AI, misinformation, social media and the pressure to make decisions at lightning speed are creating new ethical challenges for PR professionals. But what do you do when the “right” answer isn't so clear? Join us for an interactive conversation about ethics to learn more.

We'll kick things off with lunch and a talk from Holly Kathleen Hall, J.D., APR, professor of strategic communication at Arkansas State University and a member of PRSA's Board of Ethics and Professional Standards. Holly will provide an overview of PRSA's updated Code of Ethics and explore the principles that guide ethical practice, including advocacy, honesty, loyalty, fairness, transparency and independence.

We'll break into small groups to tackle real-world PR ethics scenarios and debate the tough choices, gray areas and competing priorities that communications professionals face. Patrice Guilfoyle, APR, director of communications at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and PRSA Memphis Ethics Chair, will facilitate the discussions.

Come ready to share your perspective, challenge your assumptions and answer the question: What would you do?

A note about parking:
Attendees will park in the lot next to the Memphis Scottish Rite Temple on Union Avenue (near the corner of Dunlap St.) and walk across the street to the center of the university's historic quadrangle to get to the Mooney Building. Campus staff will be available for assistance with directions and street crossing.
