MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Memphis Chapter is proud to announce its inaugural scholarship recipient: Caroline Picou, a senior at the University of Mississippi who is majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications.

Picou, of New Orleans, Louisiana, was selected for her outstanding academic record, work experience, and strong letter of support. “I’m so honored and excited to have the opportunity to expand my knowledge and passion for public relations through this organization,” she says.

“When we first established the PRSA Memphis scholarship, we wanted to provide a way to support the future leaders of this field in their studies,” says Elizabeth Whittington, PRSA Memphis president. “Caroline embodies what we had hoped to recognize with this scholarship. Her professionalism and involvement at the PRSSA level shone through in her application materials.”

The PRSA Memphis Scholarship aligns with the chapter’s mission to support and uplift emerging professionals in the public relations and communications industry. The $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who demonstrates academic excellence, is actively pursuing a degree in public relations, communications, or a related field, and is a full-time, degree-seeking student at a local college or university in the Mid-South area.

“We are excited to see how Caroline continues to grow and contribute to the field,” added Whittington. “This scholarship is just one step in helping students bridge the gap between academic study and professional success.”
